Tomorrow will be filled with soccer games, Women's Conference, and laundry. After spending the day home from work today ( I was sick), I am looking forward to feeling better, and being able to listen to Women's Conference. Of course, I will have to be reminded of all the things I should be doing that I am not. Some times I wonder if I will ever be good enough to be a "good Mormon." I certainly don't fit in. I guess that is why we have these things,, I always feel this way right before, and then tomorrow night, I will have new resolve, to try a little harder, live a little better, and strive to be more Christ like. I probably never will be as good as most the people around me, but, at least I am becoming more than I once was right?
I remember my first conference I ever watched. It was when Bryan and I were dating. I slept through nearly all of it. It was the most boring thing I had ever suffered in all my life! The next few years, I slept the more than I watched, but kept trying to like it. Each time I watched, I got a little more out of it than I had the time before, and then I discovered the church magazines. After that, I browsed through the talks on occasion. I have to confess, I am still not the best personal scripture studier, and I don't read the Ensign cover to cover, more than once a year....BUT!!!!
I just love conference, and to be honest, I haven't slept through any of the last two conferences. Like I said, I will probably never be what many around me are, but at least I am improving day to day. My children are already far above me in spirituality. Hopefully, they will be .......what I would like to be! I hope this doesn't sound like a depressing post, because I really didn't intend it to be. My words aren't coming out as uplifting as my thoughts are. I guess what I meant to say was: There is hope............. if God could help a soul as rebellious as mine, he will help anyone. We had a wonderful lesson in Sunday School last week, and it has touched me all week. I don't think I have ever looked forward to conference like I am this time. Anyone who wants to come over, give me a call. Let's have a conference get together.

A Day of Remembrance
September 17, 2004 congress mandates all teachers must celebrate "Constitution Day" in their classroom. Just hours later, our family got earth moving news that changed our view of our earthly existence. Other "news" was being reported from near Eagle Mountain, Utah.
Our sweet cousin, niece, and friend, JaCee was killed in a car accident. I didn't know then how much I would still miss her when it was five years down the road, I only knew my little sister's life as she knew it had ended with her little angel now embracing her father in heaven.
Today, as a teacher we "got" to celebrate "Constitution Day." Our school went out to the flag pole to honor our new flag, while the students all said the pledge of allegiance. I know it may sounds silly, but when all those children were silent watching the flag, I thought of JaCee. It was like Heavenly Father made the day of her death a national day of remembrance.
We weren't able to go down to her grave this year, but we did take extra flowers over to my friend Corey's grave, since Penny moved, and she won't be able to. This week is always hard for me. Two people I really love lost their favorite people tragically this week, and I am never really certain how to honor them with enough reverence. Tonight, we ate speghetti-O's and Totinos, and talked of things we remember.... Here are the children's tributes to their lost cousin and friend.
Colton: I remember teasing JaCee one day (like I do all the little girls), and she said to me "Colton that wa not very nice." I can still hear her little voice saying those words. I don't know why I remember that, it helps me remember to treat girls with respect!
Dallin: I remember Brindy and JaCee asking me to play dollhouse with them. They were just so cute, I couldn't say no. And I remember JaCee playing Barbie dolls and dress up with Brindy(and sometimes me, if asked me) they could play those games for hours! JaCee and Brindy are such good friends, they do everything together. And JaCee looks just like her parents, was always fun and spirited, and just a good person to have around when your down, because she always was happy and optimist. Even if everyone was sad she would be the one to come and cheer everyone up. She loved to be around everybody, I remember one time when I was down because I got hurt, and came up to me and said, "Why are you sad?" And we talked and she cheered me right up. I miss you SO,SO,SO very much JaCee!!! I love you!!! Big ways, small ways, forever and always!!
McKenzie:
Pictures are worth a thousand words, but are worth a million times more when they are the only tangible memories that you have of a loved one. I woke up this morning and was shocked to realize that it has been five years since I saw JaCee in person. It's strange how fast life's journey takes you and how little you can look at the scenery. I was fortunate enough to look back at life's road and reminisce for a little while. The things I remember the most about JaCee are just little things, tidbits of personality I suppose. Though words cannot describe in full what memoirs float in my head, but I'll try to grasp a few. One of the things I remember about JaCee is that she had her shoes on backwards, and that they even buried her with her shoes on that way. She loved to have her silky chocolate hair brushed, and knew every Disney princess song from A-Z. It was not a rare occasion to hear her singing these in the bathtub or while she worked or played. Often they would drift into Primary songs, another one of her favorites. She and Brindy were as thick as thieves, and were constantly playing "Ring-Around-the-Rosies." The very last, and the hardest look back on, memory that I have of her from when she was alive was the way she would pull a pouty little face, bat her big brown eyes and demand, "Where are my hugs and kisses?" Just last week in seminary I wished that she could ask me one more time and I could respond with the greatest "I love you," that words or actions could manage. So I'll say one more time, "love you JaCe!
Brindy: Once when I was with JaCee and we played with her dollhouse, we reached our hands through the door hole, and held hands and we crawled in the bottom and we went out of the bottom and we crawled out. And, we loved to play that.
We played dress ups with each other, we were princess sisters. While our moms were working in the house we got to talk to each other on the phone. When I went to her house, I played with Babe, and she played with Charlie.
I really miss her, and really love her...... she is one of my very best friends!
Matilee: I remember everyone was sad, and Tate loves her and Carrie and Roy loves her.
Penny, I remember the first time we met Corey at church. He met Bryan in priesthood. I fell in love with your children immediately. I remember Corey eating broccoli, with what was it, lemon juice at lunch? He always shared produce with us, and once came to pick apples with Lexi when you were sick. He teased me when you taught me how to make applesauce. Just a week before he died he talked to me for about forty minutes, he told me to always talk to my kids, and they would turn out just fine. It appears he was right... Look at your children. I am honored to have known him. My heart is with you as well.
Tonight, Brindy said family prayers, and prayed for you, started crying and begged Heavenly Father to tell her we all love her and miss her with all of our hearts.
We love you Carrie, Roy, Tate,.............Penny, John, Aaron, Hannah, Emilee, Paul, Lexi and Brian

BOO is NINE!
Brindy
Brindy actually turned nine on the tenth, but didn't want to celebrate her birthday, until yesterday, so she could have family over.
She got a new bike (from us)and a webkins from Aunt Carrie Uncle Roy and Tate. Grandma also sent a pretty card with money. She said she liked the card better than the money!
We went to her soccer game on Saturday morning, and she had her best game ever! They tied, but she played her personal best. She is such a fun girl. She can dress up like a princess, put away dishes, run after a soccer ball (keeping her messy bun on place), pack her lunch, play the WII, and read a book, and do all these things with the same happy smile.
She is pleasant most of the time, and kind to all she sees. Her simple innocence is refreshing in a world where so many children are growing up much too quickly. I am blessed to have this angel in my life!!!!
We love you Brindy!! Happy Birthday!!!!!!
